Taking some little bombs from her pack, Everest set them off and the snow fell apart and revealed the cave opening and shortly after this, everyone came out and despite being pretty cold, they were relatively fine. Coming upon where the group should be, there seemed to be an avalanche covering where a cave opening should be. Steadying her nerves, Everest prepared to save her dad and everyone else and set off into the mountains. There was no response and Everest put the radio tower's signal to the maximum setting and heard a garbled message from Lapen about how they were trapped in a cave in at the halfway point of their journey. Things seemed okay for a while, but after not hearing any radio check ins for some time, Everest started to worry and got the radio, hoping to hear from her father that he just forgot to radio in. ![]() ![]() Everest begrudgingly remained at her home/base. Lepan would lead the Patrol while Everest would be told to stay behind if anyone came over the radio and needed aid or services. When the Venture Bay PAW Patrol team arrived, they asked for a guide up the mountain as they were looking for a specific location that was part of their search for older Patrol members, which Everest would later find out were the parents of this Patrol group. On one particular occasion, only Everest and her dad, Lapen, were the only rescue dogs left at the base of the mountain in this moment. They lived on Suther Mountain, 2 hours away from Venture Bay.
